Free Youth Shotgun Skills Clinics
- Who: 16 youth participants ages of 10 – 17.
- When: Saturday’s Sept 12th, 19th and 26th, 2026 from 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM.
- Where: Central Idaho Rod & Gun Club in Challis.
- How: Call 208-879-5451 or 208-879-6056 to register or for more information.
- Details: Youth ages 10 – 17 will receive one-on-one instruction and guidance on shotgun shooting essentials. Youth will first receive classroom instructions on different types of shotguns and safety while handling and shooting. Then they will move on to practicing shooting clay targets at the club range. Youth model shotguns and ammo are provided free or bring your own shotgun. Advanced registration is required.
- This is training for the free youth pheasant hunt on the 3rd and 4th Oct 2026. Youth must attend all three shoots to have a priority spot on the list for the pheasant hunt.
Free Pheasant Hunt!
Youth learn to hunt game birds with trained (senior, master and UT level qualified) bird dogs provided for the hunt/training.
- Who: Youth ages 10-17.
- When: Saturday Oct 3, 2026 from 8:30AM-4:00PM & Sunday Oct 4, 2026 from 9:00AM-2:00PM or until hunts are done.
- Where: Central Idaho Rod & Gun Club in Challis and a local ranch with free breakfast and lunch provided on site on the 3rd and bring your own meals on the 4th. Youth model shotguns and ammo provided free both days.
